I have been to several of the world-class theme parks in Southern California lately. One thing I found is that you can enter into the world of many favorite animated cartoon characters if you enjoy that sort of thing.
The first place we think of is Disneyland, the hangout for Mickey, Donald and all their buddies. There are a few really good websites with helpful information about planning a Disneyland vacation. Disney has no-doubt done the most effective job of bringing imaginary characters to life, much to the delight of us all.
Nearby Knott’s Berry Farm has its own crew of lovable characters with Lucy, Snoopy and the Peanuts team at Camp Snoopy. The Peanuts guys have been at Knott’s Berry Farm for quite awhile now and seem to feel at home there.
Universal Studios up in Hollywood would be a good next stop in your vacation, where you can chill with the likes of Homer Simpson, the Flintstones and Rubbles, Betty Boop and Spiderman. Pick up some useful information and tips about Universal Studios from the SoCal Vacation Guru.
Lastly, we drive up north a ways and stop at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The first thing you see when you get close to the park are the Six Flags roller coasters. As soon as you get inside, you realize that the place is run by the Looney Tunes characters from the Warner Brothers cartoons.
Here and there around the park you will find some of your favorites, like Daffy, Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. The childrens’ area has attractions centered around these whacky celebrities, which is a nice break from the thrill rides that dominate the place. It is fun for kids and adults alike to meet these well-behaved celebrities, and you can find them at various spots on the Mountain.

There is no place better vacation destination than Southern California if you are a lover of thrill rides. In particular, Orange County and Los Angeles County are home to two of the best theme parks for thrill rides. Although the Disneyland Resort does offer some fun rides, it is not in the Top Two.
The two parks that come to mind when speaking of roller coasters are Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm As a means to compete more effectively with the Disneyland Resort, one Southern California vacation writer notes that these two theme parks have invested a tremendous amount of cash in developing their thrill rides over the years.
You won’t find any place with more edgy thrill rides and coasters than Six Flags Magic Mountain. Of course some in your group may not be roller coaster fanatics, and there are many other rides and activities to be enjoyed, as you can learn at the SoCal Guru website.
The second Southern California theme park with a strong emphasis on roller coasters is Knott’s Berry Farm, although it too offers many activities such as Ghost Town. We have talked to employees who can confirm that several of the roller coasters at Knott’s will push you to the limit of comfort.
Speaking of dinner, if you go to Knott’s, don’t forget to allow time to eat at Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. For like 70 years or more this establishment has been delighting tens of thousands of diners with down-home cooking. You’ll find useful information, tips and recommendations for enjoying Knott’s Berry Farm at the SoCal Guru site. You can find out about nearby hotels, and also about the many other vacation opportunities in Southern California.
You can learn about the other Los Angeles-area theme parks, namely the Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. You’ll find some fun thrill rides at other parks, but they don’t stack up to what they offer at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I hope this is helpful if you love coasters!

I went to LA’s Bigest Business Networking Mixer the other week at the Shrine Auditorium. Huge Expos are like Six Flags for me! Not only did I meet several of my friends from online but I met a WHOLE bunch of recent colleague, and learned about some new referal for Networking Event Finders.com. Be that as it may a amusing thing happened on the way to the auto I parked my car at the very top of the building (got a spectacular photo of the Los Angeles ) and at the end of the expo, when a quite a few of us got on the elevator what do you think happened? For The Networking Jobseeker
As The Govenator puts it, the “Good, Bad & the Ugly” of the CA budget issue has been decided and it looks like huge layoffs are counted uponhere. What that means your business networking events are going to see additional jobseekers, pink “slip mixers” and career fairs than ever (the latter assumes there are still companies hiring). In conversations I’ve had with networking event hosts across the country, they tell me that they are all experiencing a up stat in the number of people who attend who list themselves as looking for work. Most of these people have been out of the networking loop for a while. I thought I would roll out some quick networking Do’s & Don’ts for the networking Jobseeker: Read more… @ Networking Event Finders Website

As we watch our vacation budgets carefully, a question that arises is “Where’s a great destination with lots of variety?” A good candidate for your summer travel plans would be Southern California. There you will find theme parks, beaches, great weather and a lot more.
Another possibility would be Hawaii. Although those warm beaches are hard to resist, there’s not as much variety in vacation options as California. Here is an article that discusses the differences between Hawaiian vacations and Southern California vacations. In Southern California you don’t need to worry as much about underwater rocks; also, the humidity is generally lower and the sunshine less intimidating. You’ll find the ocean water to be warmer in the Aloha State, but the cooler California water might actually seem more inviting on a hot summer day.
A Hawaiian vacation does offer beautiful subtropical vegetation and fascinating Polynesian cultural experiences. On the other hand, there are many different cultures to be experienced in the Southern California melting pot.
The beaches are just one of many attractions to be enjoyed in Southern California. You could spend a week checking out the seven top-notch theme parks between San Diego and Los Angeles County. In particular, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm top the list for thrill rides, with the Six Flags roller coasters being in especially great abundance and variety. Those parks both boast many coasters and similar adrenaline-pumping rides. Disneyland has a few attractions that would be considered thrill rides, but not nearly as many as those other two parks.
Hawaii does not offer roller coasters, but does offer surfing on the North Shore of Oahu in the wintertime. It may be that California offers more ways to trim the budget, but sometimes there are great Hawaii vacation packages to be found on the internet or in the newspaper Travel section.

Southern California is a pretty well-known vacation destination and there are a great many hotels to be found. Business travelers are typically seeking hotels near the airport or within freeway proximity of the office.
We’re talking mostly about vacation travelers here, and for them you’re looking at a much wider range in quality and price. In either case, here is a good website intended to help you find good hotel deals. You can use this website to find package airline and hotel deals also, which is convenient.
The Socal Guru offers another site with information on hotels near Southern California vacation destinations. Even though the economy is bad, we still need a little vacation now and then. I spent some time doing research to see if I can arrange a nice trip while saving money in the process. There are a bunch of major travel websites offering nice travel deals to a lot of destinations.
The choice of travel website should not only include finding the lowest price for car, hotel and air travel, you also want a company with a reputation for arranging a vacation without problems. It also occurred to me that I should find a place where I can find good prices on travel costs, and maybe where I could drive my own car to save even more. I should point out that Southern California might be a great choice.
You’ll find a bunch of information and advice related to Southern California at the SoCal Vacation Guru website. It focuses mainly on Orange County and Los Angeles County, but will eventually expand to provide more information on San Diego County and the Inland Empire desert and mountain areas as well. You will find a lot of information and tips at the SoCal Vacation Guru related to the beaches, Universal Studios, Disneyland, shopping, Knott’s Berry Farm and other attractions.
Did you know that there are actually seven world-class theme parks in the area, those being Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags, Universal Studios Hollywood, Legoland, SeaWorld and Disney’s California Adventure. Of course visiting all of those would not be particularly cheap, but you could fit a lot of vacation fun into a short period of time. If your budget allows in this slow economy, you can probably find some great hotel deals, with many hotel operators and other vacation businesses really looking for your patronage.
In slow economic times the theme parks tend to offer more discounts, as to the museums and other activities. Rather than flying to your vacation destination, you may find that, even with the crazy behavior of gasoline prices recently, you can save money by driving to Southern California this year.
