Idea #2:  The Louisiana Political Museum and Hall of Fame Offers Fun and Education. The museum opened to the public in 1993. Some of the other interesting artifacts at the museum include Earl Long’s campaign vehicle and Huey Long’s dining room set. The Louisiana Political Museum and Hall of Fame is open Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM.

Idea #1: The Rich Family History of Mefford’s Fort in Maysville, Kentucky. Mefford’s Fort was rebuilt from original materials to create the landmark we visit today.  A total of 25 children and three generations were raised in Mefford’s Fort.  All of the Mefford family history may be easily found in Mason County, Kentucky. The Washington Visitors Center allows multiple daily opportunities to see Mefford’s Fort on the Historic Washington Tour. 

Idea #2:  The Adsmore House & Gardens in Princeton, KY. Adsmore is considered to be the only living house museum in existence in Kentucky.  The grounds contain the house, which serves as the museum, a 19th century carriage house operated currently as a gift shop, and a rustic log cabin called “Ratliff’s Gun Shop”.  The Adsmore grounds are known for its intricate seasonal decoration and celebrations.
